This weekend we had fun making Christmas num nums. We love doing this, and we especially love that we have the wonderful excuse of going to see family to justify making the goodies... plus that way we don't eat all of them! This recipe is one of my favorites, and this year I think we have perfected it!
Ingredients:
Approximately 1.5 cups of unpopped popcorn
10.5 oz. bag of mini marshmallows
1.5 cups crushed candy canes
1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
salt
16 oz. package of white chocolate bark
1/2 cup dark chocolate wafers
Directions:
Pop the popcorn (thank goodness for the Whirley Pop!). Go through and sort out the unpopped kernals. Salt the popcorn. Melt the white chocolate bark. Mix in the peppermint extract with the chocolate once melted. Working in two batches, put half the popcorn in the biggest bowl you have. Throw in half the marshmallows and a little less than half of the crushed candy cane. Pour approximately half of the chocolate on the mixture and mix well with a spatula. Spread out on wax paper. Repeat the process with the rest of the popcorn and marshmallows, almost the rest of the crushed candy cane and the rest of the white chocolate bark. Melt the dark chocolate, and then have your husband drizzle it artistically over the popcorn. While he's drizzling, follow with the rest of the crushed candy cane and try to sprinkle it on top of the dark chocolate.
